Rapper 2 Chainz tells entrepreneurs: If you want to succeed, your risk tolerance must be high, after he has bought a music festival in Atlanta. The artist believes his upbringing was good preparation for business life. “I come from gambling. I come from hustling. I come from taking chances,” he said.

2 Chainz is no stranger to Entrepreneurialism, he has invested money in a range of tech start-ups including Lyft, Lime, and more. No, as co-owner of A3C Festival & Conference, he hopes to make the 3 day tech and culture event Atlanta’s equivalent to SXSW.

A3C draws an annual crowd of 30,000 attendees. After 15 years of operation it was sold to The Gathering Spot and Paul Judge Media Group, which after a month of discussion, 2 Chainz joined the ownership group. The rapper will take an active role in the festival, helping to curate speakers and performers.

On his investment into the festival 2 Chainz said “I think investing is a good thing, period. Especially anything involving a festival, music something along those lines. I feel like A3C has the trajectory to be the next South by Southwest, as far as growing musical talent.”

For 2020 the A3C Festival was in a virtual format.
